How Long Do The Inspections Take?
According to the MVA, most safety inspections should take about an hour and a half to perform for most vehicles.

What Happens If the Vehicle Fails the Maryland State Inspection?
If your vehicle fails the vehicle inspection, the Inspection Certificate can’t be issued. Even if it’s only one safety issue, the problem must be repaired or remedied before you are issued a completed Certificate.
In either case, it’s best to have your vehicle repaired as soon as possible. At Columbia Auto Care & Car Wash, our experienced ASE-certified mechanic offers a full range of automotive repairs for vehicles that fail the inspection.
When you have the vehicle repaired and reinspected within 30 days after the original inspection date, and you haven’t driven more than 1,000 miles, we will only be required to inspect the equipment that triggered the original failure.
